Putin says global competition to rise, warns of unfair rivals

MOSCOW, Feb 9 (PRIME) -- New technologies are changing the global economy and international competition will only strengthen triggering unfair practices, President Vladimir Putin told a meeting of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on Friday.

“We need to say that a new technological wave is seriously changing the landscape of the global economy, this is the main thing. To put it in other words, the cards are being dealt anew. Principally new frameworks of goods and services will be formed, new leaders will emerge and naturally, competition will get tougher,” Putin said.

“Any forms of pressure, any forms of competitive struggle can take place.”

Putin said that policies of artificial restrictions in international business relations are a losing battle and result in direct losses of all participants.

“When talking to colleagues from other states I see that they share this point of view,” he said.
